Map-A-Pic Update Adds Sunrise, Sunset Times, Picture Editor, and More

Seattle, Washington – Sea To Software, LLC today is pleased to announce Map-A-Pic Location Scout 1.2, a powerful iPhone app for photographers and filmmakers. This major update adds a number of features such as the sunrise and sunset times, a picture editor, and a beautiful new user interface.

“We’re getting a very positive response from our users about Map-A-Pic for iPhone. Today, we’re making the app even more useful by adding features that until now were only available as standalone apps: the picture editor, and the sunrise and sunset times, for any saved location, for any date,” says Pavel Sorokin, the founder of Sea To Software. “In addition, the app now displays the times of the morning and evening Golden hour, informing the user of the best times to shoot.”

Map-A-Pic 1.2 lets the users edit the photos of their locations with a simple yet powerful picture editor. Enhancing the colors, cropping, and applying filters are now just a few taps away. Other improvements include an enhanced user interface, with full-screen notes editing, better location search, and improved presentation of the location details.

Map-A-Pic Location Scout is an essential tool for photographers and film makers who need to keep track of shoot locations. The user can save any location, along with pictures and GPS coordinates, into a searchable database. The optional notes and tags further help remember the details of the locations. The saved locations can be searched, viewed as a map or list, and filtered by specific tags. The app can show driving/walking directions to any of the saved locations. The users can share any location by email, or post it on Twitter or Instagram.

Pricing and Availability:
Map-A-Pic Location Scout 1.2 is $3.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photo & Video category. The app runs on iPhone and iPod touch devices, and it requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Android apps coming to Windows Phones?

There’s a weird rumor going around the Interwebs, suggesting that Microsoft may allow Android apps to run on Windows Phones. Something like that would quickly increase the app count for Microsoft’s mobile platform, but there are downsides as well. For one thing, this could entice developers to skip “regular” native development for Windows Phone. It’s a tricky choice. On one hand, the Redmond giant could benefit in the short term to have all those Android apps and games available on Windows Phone handsets. On the other hand, they could pretty much face extinction from the mobile game, with Windows Phone pretty much turning into yet another Android launcher. So no, we don’t think Microsoft will allow this to happen. At the same time, it may not stop other companies from pursuing this opportunity. Think BlueStacks, the company that already allows Android apps to run on Windows computers. Perhaps these same guys/gals can enable the same functionality on Windows Phones. We doubt the Redmon...
