Sony Xperia GX makes an FCC appearance

Sony’s upcoming Xperia GX just made an appearance at the FCC revealing some more details of what could be Sony’s next flagship device. The specifications are said to include a Qualcomm S4 dual core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The display is a 4.6? 720p HD panel. We’re really enamored by the curved back of the phone and think this might end up being one of the best looking Android handsets out there. FCC documentation has revealed that the handset will include a pentaband radio which is still relatively rare in the Android world. The phone will be capable of running on both the T-Mobile and AT&T HSPA+ 4G network. Click the source to check out the documentation yourself. Mac and iOS email app, Sparrow, gets acquired by Google

Popular iOS and Mac email app, Sparrow was acquired by Google today. Sparrow CEO Dom Leca announced via the company blog that they will be joining Google to accomplish a ‘bigger vision’. An email sent later to users confirmed that any future releases of the app will mainly focus on bug fixes as the company no longer plans to release new features for the email app. We hope that Google releases Sparrow as an official Gmail app into the app store instead of the surprisingly bad version of Gmail currently available. The application will be available on the iOS and Mac app store for the forceable future but you might want to get hold of a copy sooner rather than later in case Google changes its mind. Nightly builds of Firefox Mobile OS now available

Mozilla has started rolling out nightly builds of its upcoming Firefox Mobile OS for users to download. The OS seems to take a lot of inspiration from iOS and Android in terms of UI. In addition, the icons seem to take some hint from Symbian. While Firefox could stun users with a brilliant browsing experience, we remain skeptical. Between the capabilities of Android and simplicity of iOS and Windows Phone, we find it hard to believe that Mozilla will pose a challenge to any of the other established players. Head on over here to download the latest build of the OS if you want to give it a spin. These are currently meant for developers only so you will some technical know-how to get everything up and running. Over 10 million Galaxy SIII sales since launch says Samsung

Back in June, Samsung had announced that the Galaxy SIII would reach 10 million sales by July and it seems that they’ve reached that goal right on schedule. Shin Jying Kyun of Samsung has announced that the Galaxy SIII crossed the 10 million sales mark since its launch on May 29th. In comparison, it had taken the Galaxy SII almost 5 months to reach this mark. By current estimates it is believed that the sales figures for the SIII will cross 40 million by EOY 2012. The Jelly Bean update is  expected to hit this high profile handset sometime in August which should help keep sales going strong.
