Sony Xperia M4 Aqua spotted ahead of its official unveiling

A Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is expected to join the Xperia Z4 Tablet at the MWC announcement and though that's not for a couple of days, the phone couldn?t elude the paparazzi any longer. Two photos show a classic Xperia design with a lot of similarities to the Xperia M2 Aqua. The phone is most likely the Sony E2303 that has leaked before, which would mean a 5.2" 720p display, Snapdragon 615 chipset running Android 5.0 Lollipop and a 13MP main camera and 5MP selfie camera, both shooting 1080p video. Benchmarks unfortunately can't tell us the IP rating, but the Xperia M2 Aqua has IP68, making it dust tight and able to survive dives up to 1.5m for half an hour. Thanks to the CoolKid for sending this in! Source View the original article here

Android 5.1 Lollipop is now official, changelog coming soon

Android 5.1 Lollipop name has been creating quite a buzz over the social networks through the last few hours. The new version has appeared on various screenshots and its name and build numbers popped up through various logs. Google has already confirmed the next Android iteration - 5.1 Lollipop - via its official Android One page. There you can clearly see the mention of the new Android OS though there are no details on the improvements. The new Android version is already shipping with the Android One devices listed on the official web page, including the Nexian Journey many people posted screenshots of. We guess lots of bug fixes and performance boosts will be in tow with the update, but Google is yet to release the official changelog, builds and source code. Once we get the complete lists of changes, you bet we'll post it immediately. Stay tuned! Source View the original article here

LG G Pro 2 is officially official; Here are 6 things you should know about it

Just as we expected, LG has officially announced the G Pro 2 in Korea. The successor to the Optimus G Pro is one of the best devices ever made, with some features even the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is missing. To help you cut through the clutter, we wanted to highlight the G Pro 2's key selling point. Here 6 things you should know about it: 1. Processor / Memory The G Pro 2 rocks Qualcomm’s potent Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip clocked at 2.26GHz with Adreno 330 graphics and full 3GB of RAM. In addition, it comes with 16 or 32 GB of internal storage that is further expandable with microSD cards. 2. Screen This big boy packs a 5.9-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with slim bezel of just 3.3mm. This in turn provides the industry-leading screen-to-frame ratio of 77.2 percent! 3. Sound Compared to its predecessor, the G Pro 2 is 30% louder. LG managed to achieve this by using a thicker, high-power 1W Hi-Fi speaker that promises to deliver “clearer sound with more powerful bass.” We c...

Android gets its own official blog, read all about the OS straight from the Android team

Posted in: Android 17 hours ago by Peter So far, the Google Mobile blog has been the major source of info on Android, coming from the source. The blog, however, covers a lot of other Google mobile services (like Google’s mobile sites and apps for other mobile OSes), so when the Mountain View team received an overwhelming amount of requests for an Android-only blog, they delivered. The Official Android blog will be the go-to place to learn what’s new with the Google mobile operating system. A major Google Wallet announcement is the first piece of news to be broken by the blog. By the way, even though the Official Android blog launched just yesterday, it has plenty of content already – the Google team has aggregated various Android-related posts from all the other Google blogs and put them in one place. Here’s the blog, Android users will probably want to bookmark it for future reference. Source View the original article here
