Alcatel 6045 One Touch leaks with a 64-bit Snapdragon 610

A new Alcatel smartphone with a 64-bit processor has bee spotted at the GFXBenchmark database. Dubbed One Touch 6045, the phone sports a Snapdragon 610 chipset with a 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and 2GB of RAM. GFXBenchmark is reporting the device's display to be 13.7" in size, but that's likely a mistake. Nevertheless, the exact size of the display is unknown, but its resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The rest of the specs include a 12MP main snapper and a 7MP front-facing camera, both recording 1080p video. There's 8GB of internal storage, which is likely to be expandable via a microSD card slot. The Alcatel One Touch 6045 ran Android 5.0.2 during the testing. We should know more about the Alcatel's upcoming mid-range smartphone at the Mobile World Congress - the company is holding its event on March 1. Source | Via View the original article here

Hands-on review: CES 2014: LG LifeBand Touch and Heart Rate Headphones

News from CES that LG is making a play for the fitness tracker space is nothing new – it did just the same thing last year. But this time around, things have got smarter and more oddly designed, with the new LifeBand Touch offering functionality beyond just wandering around and seeing a number raise up. That's obviously a large part of the raison d'être for the LifeBand, but there's loads more functionality that makes it a more compelling (and sometimes cheaper) option for those looking to have something help explore the data in their life. The design of the LifeBand is definitely something that will take getting used to – it was almost repellent the first time I picked it up. Featuring a not insubstantial break in the ring to allow you to put it on, the design oddity is compounded by the fact the screen element is so much heavier. This meant that not only does it not connect all the way around your wrist, it will wobble about thanks to being top-heavy. This problem was re...

Moto X KitKat update brings enhanced 'touch to focus' mode to the camera

Touch and drag to focus and expose your images, and it really works The camera on the Moto X is not going to win any awards. It won't turn you into Trey Ratcliff , it won't get you paid for your pictures by National Geographic, and it won't keep you warm in the evenings. But it opens fast, and with the new enhanced "touch to focus" mode that came with KtiKat it takes pictures a bit better than it did before. Previously, something was broken with touch to focus. Things seemed to focus on the center of the viewfinder no matter where you tried to move it to, and a lot of pictures showed this by being blurry and grainy. Focus and exposure are two of the most important things we need out of a small sensor camera (the third being good white balance and color correction) and part of the reason why pictures from your phone always look like pictures from your phone. Motorola wants the camera to be good . They used relatively good components , and are working on the...
