Otterbox cases for HTC One (M9) make the rounds

A lineup of Otterbox cases for the upcoming HTC One (M9) made the rounds online. The Taiwan-based manufacturer will reveal a duo of flagship smartphones in less than a month, on March 1 in Barcelona. Showcased in gray and black, the Otterbox cases appear to be from the company?s Defender series. The accessories once again reveal the large, squarish camera which the HTC One (M9) packs. The covers are scheduled to become available on April 1. Their price tag will be ? 29.95. HTC One (M9) is all but certain to arrive in two different variants. Rumored specs of the smartphone include Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 20.7MP camera coupled with 4MP UltraPixel front-facing snapper. Motorola offers up to $100 discount for US customers

Motorola is having a sale on its US website, and you can save up to $100. If you spend $499.99, you can get $100 off, or if you spend $249.99, you can get $35 off. The offer is available on Motorola devices and accessories till February 14. For the $100 off you'd at least have to purchase the Moto X or the Nexus 6, while you'd have to at least get the Moto 360 to get the $35 off. HTC One (M9) leaks out dressed in gold

Live photos of the upcoming HTC One (M9) made the rounds online yet again. This time around, the upcoming flagship from the Taiwanese manufacturer posed for the camera in gold color scheme. Right in line with past leaks, the live photos once again allow us to catch a glimpse of the large squarish cutout for the handset?s camera. The latter is said to be a 20.7MP unit, coupled with a 4MP UltraPixel front-facing snapper. Furthermore, the latest batch of leaked photos reveal the inside of the device?s machined metal body. The grey bits we see are reserved for the smartphone?s wireless antennas. HTC One (M9) will make its official debut in less than a month, on March 1 in Barcelona. Samsung loses its position as India's top smartphone vendor

Just a few days after market research firm Counterpoint noted that Samsung actually lost its title of the world?s leading smartphone vendor in Q4, 2014, it is being reported that the South Korean company has been dethroned in the Indian smartphone market, too. According to a report from market research firm Canalys, with 22% of the market share in Q4 last year, local budget brand Micromax has now become the top smartphone vendor in the country, ahead of Samsung at 20%. The Indian company already overtook the South Korean firm as the leading brand in all types of mobile phones last year. "This incredible performance is partly due to Micromax?s continuing appeal to mobile phone users upgrading to smart phones," the report said. "Its flagship line of products has also very effectively targeted the US$150 to US$200 (INR9,000 to INR12,000) segment, with products such as the Canvas Nitro and Canvas Hue." ARM announces high-end Cortex-A72 CPU and Mali-T880 GPU

ARM announced a trio of high-end components, which are bound to be part of the next generation of mobile chipsets. The brand-new ARM Cortex-A72 CPU, Mali T-880GPU, and the CoreLink CCI-500 interconnect will feature in top-shelf mobile devices in 2016. The 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 CPU is going to be the successor of the Cortex-A57. The newcomer is 3.5x faster than the Cortex-A15 generation, yet it consumes the same amount of energy. Cortex-A72 will use 75% less power than 2014 Cortex-A15 devices under similar workload. In order to ease the implementation of the new chip, ARM has made its compatible with the latest TSMC 16nm FinFET+ process. The CPU will offer extended performance and efficiency when combined with Cortex-A53 CPU in ARM big.LITTLE setup.
