Boost Mobile will launch the new waterproof smartphone into its networks, the Kyocera Hydro. This handset should be available in the carrier’s stores starts August 3rd, 2012. Reportedly, this Kyocera mid-range smartphone is listed for priced at $129.99 no-contract (not incl. tax). So, the Boost’s Hydro is the first IPX5- and IPX7-rated water-proof Android-powered smartphone that doesn’t require a contract. The Kyocera Hydro is a waterproof device (up to 1 meter for 30 minutes), which was officially announced at early of May 2012 and comes with Tissue Conduction audio technology. Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the Hydro boasts a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 2GB internal storage.
