The LG G Flex 2 available in the Netherlands starting March 31

The LG G Flex 2, which was unveiled at this year?s CES, and launched in South Korea late last month, is heading for its first European market. News has surfaced that LG's latest flagship will be available in Netherlands starting March 31. This is only the second international market the device is entering following Singapore, where the G Flex 2 will be up for preorder on February 28. The curvy handset is slowly branching outside its native Korean market and even if you have to wait a while to pick it up at a local retailer, Amazon Germany already offers you to book your unit. The phone will cost €699 for the 16GB model, which is around the €650 it is currently listed for online. No information is known yet about pricing and availability of the 32GB model. This is still significantly lower than the original LG G Flex, which cost some ?850 when it first came out. The G Flex 2 is the company?s first mobile device to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, which has received s...

Redmi Note 4G now available in India without registration

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G, which was launched in India back in December last year, is now available for purchase on e-commerce website Flipkart without any registration. Although the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has said that it is now making enough units of the device, and can sell it without any flash sale, it's highly likely that the move was made because the phablet's demand in the market has gone down, given the fact that it did not sell out during its last flash sale that took place on February 10. The news comes just a couple of days after the Mi 4 sold out in just 15 seconds during its first flash sale in the country. The 64GB variant of the device will go on sale on February 24. BLU Studio Energy now available in the US with a 5000mAh battery

Miami-based BLU announced today the launch of its Studio Energy smartphone on the US market. The smartphone was unveiled at CES in January alongside a number of budget friendly devices, targetting specific niches. Its headline feature is the huge 5000mAh battery, currently the highest capacity in the smartphone realm, the company claims. That amount of juice translates into 45 days of standby time or 4 days of regular use, according to BLU's calculations. Thickness has been kept at a manageable 10.4mm, but weight may be more disturbing at 180g. The BLU Studio Energy features a 5-inch display of 720x1280 pixels resulting in a 294ppi density. Computing power comes from a quad-core processor, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. An 8MP camera on the back is responsible for capturing the world, while a 2MP front snapper takes care of selfies. The newly launched smartphone will boot Android 4.4 out of the box, but the company promises a Lollipop update in June. The device is av...

Windows 10 Technical Preview now available for phones

As leaked last week, the very first release of Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones is now out. You can download and install it on one of just six smartphones that are currently supported. Microsoft promises more handsets will be added to subsequent Preview builds in the future, but for now you can only proceed if you own a Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, or Lumia 830. The software giant also notes that this is a "very early" preview, which means many things may break or not work right from the start. Bugs are to be expected, and there's a very long list of known issues at the Source link. The user experience isn't polished yet, and you will see rough edges here and there. Microsoft says it's sharing it now for you to be able to give it feedback and help shape the final Windows 10 release for phones. As described in the presentation video above, the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones comes with a small subset of the features that wi...

Dual-SIM Microsoft Lumia 435 is now available in India

The Microsoft Lumia 435, which was unveiled in mid-January, has today become available to buy in India. We're talking about the dual-SIM version of the handset, which is currently being offered in white and black by Microsoft's online store for the subcontinent. Green and orange color versions were also presented during the phone's official unveiling, but so far those have not been launched in India. Perhaps they will arrive in the future. If you want to buy a Lumia 435 from Microsoft, you need to pay INR 5,999. At the current exchange rates, that means $96 or ?85. That's pretty close to the ?70 price before taxes that Microsoft touted last month. The software giant's Indian online store claims you'll receive your brand new Lumia 435 in 4 working days if you order one. In this instance, the price is low because the hardware isn't anything to get excited about. The Lumia 435 sports a 4-inch 480x800 touchscreen, a 2 MP rear camera, and a VGA secondary shoote...

Tizen-running Samsung Z1 now available in Bangladesh

The first Tizen smartphone - Samsung Z1 - was finally launched last month and the first market to get it was India. According to Samsung about 30% of the Indian phone users aren't relying on a smartphone and this where Samsung Z1 wanted tohelp. After the positive start in India, today Samsung announced it is launching the Tizen-running and TouchWiz-skinned Z1 in Bangladesh. Oppo R5 is now available for pre-order in the UK

Oppo's brief world record holder for thinnest smartphone has shown up on Amazon's UK site and is now available for pre-order. The precious units are set to start shipping as early as February 20. The Oppo R5 is a stylish midrange offering, packing a 5.2-inch FullHD display in a slender 4.85mm body. That wasn't thin enough, the competition deemed, and the R5 is now in third place behind the Ivvi K1 Mini and the Vivo X5Max. That shouldn't make it any less desireable, though, as the two-tone aluminum body is a true stunner. The rest of the Oppo R5 specs are not too shabby either. A Snapdragon 615 chipset is on board, featuring an octa-core processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Where the R5 falls short is battery capacity, which at 2000mAh proves barely adequate for the screen size, but that's the trade-off for the super-thin profile. The SIM-free Oppo R5 is listed at ?296.99 but you can also claim a free Oppo powerbank with it to address the battery capacity issue...

Philips Xenium W9588 now available in China for whopping $823

It seems there’s a subset of users in China who can’t imagine owning a non-clamshell smartphone. Samsung has thus far served this community best and now Phillips wants a bigger slice of the pie. The newly launched Xenium W9588 isn’t exactly an easy sell, quite the contrary. It’s a super-expensive mid-range smartphone with specs that include a pair of 3.5-inch 854×480 touchscreens, MediaTek’s MT6589 1.2GHz quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera on the back, and 4GB of expandable memory. All this is sold for whopping 4,999 Yuan, the amount that translates into some $823. Yeah, you should be able to get a much better phone for that money so we’re not really sure who in the world would want to get the Xenium W9588 over something much better; something like HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 or LG G2. You *really* need to love the clamshell form factor to get Philips’ baby instead of something else. And no, we’re not sure whether the W9588 will ever be released in the West… and honestly, w...

Google Nexus 7 now available in France, Germany and Spain

Posted in: Android, Tablets 42 minutes ago by Prasad Google has expanded the availability of their Nexus 7 tablets to three additional markets. Users in France, Germany and Spain will now be able to purchase the Nexus 7 from the Google Play Store. The 8GB model is priced at €199 ($249) and the 16GB model is priced at €249 ($312), which, as you can see, is a bit higher than what it costs in the US. Also, it doesn’t seem like you will get any extra credit, such as the $25 you get in the US. Lastly, the Play Store in these other countries also doesn’t have some of the contents such as magazines that you will find in its American counterpart. Despite that, these are still good prices and many people will be glad that they now have the option of purchasing the tablet officially, extra credit be damned. Hopefully, Google will expand to other markets shortly. Source View the original article here

Nightly builds of Firefox Mobile OS now available

Mozilla has started rolling out nightly builds of its upcoming Firefox Mobile OS for users to download. The OS seems to take a lot of inspiration from iOS and Android in terms of UI. In addition, the icons seem to take some hint from Symbian. While Firefox could stun users with a brilliant browsing experience, we remain skeptical. Between the capabilities of Android and simplicity of iOS and Windows Phone, we find it hard to believe that Mozilla will pose a challenge to any of the other established players. Head on over here to download the latest build of the OS if you want to give it a spin.
