Meizu Russia confirms “Ubuntu rumors”

Yup, just as we’ve told you before, Ubuntu is coming to a Meizu smartphone near you. We still don’t have the official announcement, but details keep coming.,, The latest information (or that’s confirmation) comes from Meizu Russia, which says that Meizu engineers are in fact working on an Ubuntu version of the Meizu MX3. The work is apparently still underway to make things stable, and in the meantime they [engineers] are also working on a new version of Android-based Flyme ROM for both the Meizu MX2 and MX3, adding that Ubuntu won’t be released until the updated Flyme ROM is launched. It is said that Meizu will use Ubuntu as its ticket to the US market later in the year. At that time, we may also see either a revamped MX3 model or the whole new MX4 smartphone that will sport even better hardware under the hood. As usual, we’ll be on the lookout for any news coming from the Ubuntu camp and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned… [Via: GizChina] Dusan has been...

Angry Birds Space Red Planet update coming this fall, teaser trailer confirms

Posted in: Android, Gaming, iOS 11 hours ago by Vince Rovio is hard at work on an update to its Angry Birds Space game. The update is simply called “Red Planet”, and is pretty suggestive as to what it will contain. Back in June, Angry Birds Space marked its 100th milion download, so it’s only logical for Rovio to build on the title’s success. The company also issued a teaser video for the update, which, naturally, doesn’t reveal much. Here’s the video. You can bet Rovio will release more teasers as the launch of the update approaches, so stay tuned, Angry Birds fans! Via View the original article here

Windows Phone 8 emulator confirms rumored built-in screenshot feature

Posted in: Windows Phone July 29th, 2012, 13:47 by Kyle Many people were unhappy with the Windows Phone 7 lack of native screenshot capture support. It wasn’t the WP7’s deal breaker, but still it was a feature the competition was offering for quite some time. It seems Microsoft took the complaints seriously and Windows Phone 8 has native support for taking screenshots. The Windows Phone 8 emulator confirmed we will be able to take screenshots on the new Window Phones. It’s done by pressing the Start and the Camera keys, just as rumored (F2 and F7 in the emulator). The shots are saved in a dedicated Screenshots folder in the Picture Hub. We, as reviewers, are really happy to see this feature implemented into the WP8. We are sure developers would also appreciate it. But what about you, the regular users? Source • Via View the original article here
