Latest Google Chrome update brings Retina display support on OS X, webcam support for everyone

Posted in: Mac OS X, Web Browsers, Windows 20 hours ago by Prasad Google has released the latest version of the desktop Chrome browser, which brings it to version 21.0.1180.60. One of the two important features is the support for the Retina display on the new MacBook Pro. This feature was so far available on the beta version but now those who use the stable release can take advantage of it as well. Another feature that was only available on the beta version before is support for a camera and microphone. Now thanks to addition of the getUserMedia API, websites will finally have access to your webcam (if you allow them), which will let you use services like Webcam Toy, Magic Xylophone and Sketchbots, to name a few. Other minor additions include deeper Google Cloud Print integration and expanded support for gamepads. To download the latest version of Google Chrome, click here. Getting podcasts on your Nokia Lumia

Until you’ve actually done it, it might not be entirely obvious that your Nokia Lumia has a fully-functional, built-in podcast player that does a great job of playing episodes, keeping your podcasts up-to-date and also getting rid of content that’s out-of-date. You’ll find your podcasts under the ‘Music + Videos’ tile. But of course, you’ll have to subscribe to some before you can join the fun. The key to using it on a Windows PC is Microsoft Zune. You may already have set up Zune to synchronise a playlist of your favourite tunes. What you may not have realised is that you set up podcasts separately from regular playlists. When you go to the podcast section in Zune, you can see what you’re already subscribed to, and also add a new subscription. To do, this you will need the feed address of the podcast, also described as its RSS. Click ‘add a new podcast’ at the bottom of the screen and enter the address in the box that appears. For each podcast, you can determine how many episodes you...

A newly formed joint venture, which includes Fujitsu, NTT DOCOMO, NEC, and Fujitsu Semiconductor, called Access Network Technology Limited aims at capturing a piece of the lucrative pie. Fujitsu will own 52.8% of the newly minted company, with NTT Docomo, NEC and Fujitsu Semiconductor owning 19.9, 17.8, and 9.5% respectively. Access Network Technology Limited’s goal is to capture 7% of global market for smartphone chips by 2014. While the new company’s target might seem a bit too ambitious at a first glance, given the players involved and its primary market, we wouldn’t be surprised if it makes it. What do you think? Tips for recording concerts on your Nokia 808 PureView

Published by Boc Ly on July 31, 2012 Last week I provided definitive proof that the Nokia 808 PureView is fairly idiot-proof when it comes to taking great photos.  It’s a great camera phone because it is so easy for a novice photographer, such as myself, to use but its different settings also allow more advanced users to get the results they want as well.  We have previously published some tips and tricks to help people make the most of 808 PureView’s camera.  You can still read Parts 1 and Part 2 of our help guide. As well as pin-sharp still images, it is worth remembering that the 808 PureView is also a very special device for recording HD video. When you combine this with its Rich Recording technology, it is not a huge leap forward to conclude that the 808 PureView will be quite something for recording music performances. One person who has noticed this is EasycapExpertii, an 808 PureView enthusiast from Finland who has set up a website dedicated to showcasing music recordings made...
