Video: Keyboard typing tips for Windows Phone

I thought I knew the WP keyboard quite well but I didn’t know about the swipe numbers thing (or perhaps forgotten it :/). It’s similar to swiping quick symbols when holding and ‘swyping’ to another punctuation but from the numbers end. But actually works better as you don’t have to ‘wait and hold’ you just press and drag. Pretty cool. BTW, the dedicated .com button. Without changing to a US language on my phone, how do I change my .co.uk button to .com? I rarely visit .co.uk addresses. WPCentral Category : Nokia Hey, thanks for reading my post. Razer announces DeathStalker keyboard and Kraken headphones

Posted in: Computer Hardware, Gaming, Misc gadgets, Mobile Accessories 20 hours ago by Prasad Razer has announced two new products for the gaming populace. The first is a keyboard called DeathStalker that comes with Razer’s Switchblade UI on a touchscreen display placed next to the keyboard. We first saw this UI on Razer’s Switchblade concept and then on the Razer Blade laptop and the Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming keyboard. The DeathStalker keyboard comes with the same basic system that has ten configurable keys on top to which you can assign any function. Each key has a color display within that shows the icon of the function you have assigned to the key. Below the keys is the LCD touchscreen that displays game related information and can also work as a trackpad to control your mouse pointer. Other than this, the DeathStalker comes with chiclet-style backlit keys and anti-ghosting for up to 10 simultaneous key presses, 1000Hz ultrapolling, braided fiber cable, fixed wrist rest ...

Qwerty keyboard wins the battle of the input methods

Last week we ran a poll asking you to choose your favourite input method on a mobile phone. The choices were:  Number keypadQwerty keyboardTouchscreenVoice commands Over the years many of us will have used most of these at one stage or another. Even now, your phone probably has the capability to use a couple of them.  For example, the Nokia Asha 300, Asha 202 and Asha 203 all have a number keypad and a touchscreen. Likewise, the Lumia smartphones are primarily touchscreen devices but you can also use voice commands on them.  But we wanted to see your favourite way of typing, using and interacting with your phone. We can now reveal the results:  That’s a fairly convincing win for the Qwerty keyboard, getting nearly half of your votes. I must say that I am a little surprised the touchscreen did not do a little better. After all, it has become the dominant form across smartphones and, increasingly, the aspirational and budget-conscious feature phones as well. Perhaps, it is a reflection ...

Microsoft announces Windows 8 accessories, meet the Wedge Mobile Keyboard and Wedge Touch Mouse

Posted in: Various, Windows 18 hours ago by Vince Windows 8 is coming in the end of October and to ensure its adoption goes as smooth as possible, Microsoft has announced the new Wedge Mobile Keyboard and Wedge Touch Mouse. The Wedge Mobile Keyboard keyboard is meant for tablets so it isn’t some simple Bluetooth keyboard with Windows 8-specific keys. No, it comes with a special cover which hides some nifty tricks under its sleeve. Firstly, the cover acts as an on/off switch for the keyboard itself. So when its removed, the keyboard automatically turns on, which as a result saves on battery life. Once it’s off the keyboard, the cover can fold in half to create a stand for your Windows 8 running tablet. In addition, the back of the keyboard has a handy grip allowing you to place it against a tablet and carry it around. Scratches are unlikely due to the cover’s soft rubbery surface. The Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard will retail for $79.95 and will be globally available in the coming w...
