Video: In depth, high quality video review of the Nokia Lumia 1020 (Chinese)

Published way back in October but this is new to me. It’s a well produced, comprehensive review of the Nokia Lumia 1020. It’s half an hour long and unfortunately no closed captions to even attempt a translation. Very impressive work. Cheers Daniel Cheong for the tip! Category : Nokia Hey, thanks for reading my post. Review: Kobo Arc 10HD

Introduction Kobo has launched an array of devices recently, including the Arc 7 , the Arc 10, the Aura HD and now the Kobo Arc 10HD . Impressive. But what's more impressive is that the launch of all these devices hasn't affected the quality of the hardware. Just in time for Christmas and just after the iPad Air launch, the Arc 10HD is the final throw of Kobo's dice, the manufacturer's big finale. The jazz hands. It's what Kobo has been building towards for the last 10 months, with its rhetoric about "high-quality hardware for the sophisticated user" and its description of the Aura HD as "the Porsche of ereaders." The Arc 10HD is an excellent tablet, and it's competitively priced. The 2,560 x 1,600 screen is stunning, it comes with an HDMI-out port and it has some powerful specifications under the hood. And it's substantially cheaper than the iPad Air. 10 best Android tablets in the world - updated Kobo has always focused on the readin...

Review: Philips 65PFL9708

Introduction Philips isn't generally associated with aggressive value - at least when you're talking about the upper reaches of its TV range. But in a startlingly bold move the brand is selling its first 4K/UHD TV - the 65PLF9708S - for a price that undercuts all of its 65-inch 4K/UHD TV rivals. And not just by a pound or two, either; it's £500 cheaper than the Sony KDL-65X9005A and Samsung UE65F9000 ( read the 55-inch review here ) 4K TVs, and a whole grand cheaper than the Panasonic L65WT600 , Toshiba 65L9363 and LG 65LA970W . That we're seeing such price differentiation so early in 4K's life bodes well for the format becoming 'mainstream' sooner rather than later. However, it also raises concerns that Philips has had to serve up a fairly stripped-back TV to make the 65PFL9708S's price achievable. Thankfully, these concerns prove unfounded, as its 4K native resolution is actually backed up by many eye-catching tricks and treats including Philips...

Motorola starting software soak test for Verizon Droids

Attention, owners of the Verizon Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx: Motorola has just sent out invites for a software "soak test" for the trio of devices. Nothing definite, but that could well mean Android 4.4 KitKat is on its way. (Or it could be a lesser version. We've got our fingers crossed.) It generally takes a few days for the soak test update to push — and it's entirely possible the update will push to everyone — soak test or not — at the same time. It's happened before. Stay tuned. More: Verizon Droid forums ; Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
