Galaxy S6 teaser from Sprint hints at March 26 launch

We've seen the three shades of six appeal, but a verified Sprint employee posted a different teaser that shows both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Tucked into the lower right corner is a text reading "Offer ends 3/26/15" or in other words, March 26. The whole deal is that you can win one of six Galaxy S6 handsets if you pre-register for the S6 and S6 Edge announcement. It won't be outlandish to think the end of this offer is tied to the actual launch of the new flagship pair. The AT&T teaser was labeled "Spring 2015" and Spring starts on March 21 this year, so things are starting to line up. Before that Itskins, a case manufacturer, revealed it will ship its Galaxy S6 cases on March 15. So far everything points to a late March launch for the new Galaxy royalty, at least in the west. India will be getting it with a week or two delay in early April (according to a local site). One date is certain though ? the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Ed...

630,000 Galaxy Note Edge units have been sold since launch

Last September, Samsung unveiled two phablet flagships: the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. Since the only major difference between the two was the screen - the latter, as you?d probably know, features a distinctive curved display on one of its edges - it was a bit difficult to predict how well the Note Edge would sell. But now, it is being reported that Samsung has sold around 630,000 Galaxy Note Edge smartphones since the device?s launch. Agreed, that?s even no where near the 4.5 million Galaxy Note 4 units sold in the very first month of its availability, but the number isn?t as bad as some would have suggested, especially considering the fact that the device comes with an even higher price tag. In fact, that?s good news for Samsung, which is expected to unveil its next flagship, the Galaxy S6, as well as its curved screen cousin, the Galaxy S Edge, at Mobile World Congress next month. In case you aren?t aware, the company has already sent out invites for its Galaxy Unpacke...

Is Samsung about to launch a black Galaxy S III version?

Posted in: Android, Mobile phones 14 hours ago by Vince When the Galaxy S III was announced, many were surprised that Samsung didn’t introduce a version in the classical black, but instead went forPebble blue. This might change, as a couple of photos of what appears to be a black Galaxy S III were uploaded to the company’s Facebook page, showcasing the phone’s capabilities at the London 2012 Olympics. The photos aren’t a definite proof that a black version of Samsung’s Android flagship is on the way since they have slight blue tints here or there. In the end, it may all be just bad lighting, but it would make sense for Samsung to launch a black version of the S III. A Samsung Galaxy S III in garnet red is already available for AT&T, so it’s highly likely for Sammy to launch even more color variations and try to appeal to an even wider audience. Google giving away Nexus Q for free to all who have pre-ordered it, proper launch delayed

Posted in: Android, Misc gadgets 21 hours ago by Prasad It seems Google has finally realized no one really wants a $300 bowling ball whose only real abilities are streaming your music and movies from the cloud while completely ignoring all the content on your Android smartphone or tablet and using them just as a glorified remote control. So now they have done the sensible thing and suspended the launch of the device by removing it from the Play Store. Meanwhile, they are working on making it “do even more than it does today”, which is not much. But what happens to those who have pre-ordered it? Well, they are about to get lucky as Google has announced that those who pre-ordered the Nexus Q will be getting the current version of the device for free – just like the devs, who attended the recent Google I/O conference, where the Nexus Q was announced. Here’s the full statement by Google, as quoted by AndroidPolice.com : We have an important update about your Nexus Q pre-order. When we an...

Over 10 million Galaxy SIII sales since launch says Samsung

Back in June, Samsung had announced that the Galaxy SIII would reach 10 million sales by July and it seems that they’ve reached that goal right on schedule. Shin Jying Kyun of Samsung has announced that the Galaxy SIII crossed the 10 million sales mark since its launch on May 29th. In comparison, it had taken the Galaxy SII almost 5 months to reach this mark. By current estimates it is believed that the sales figures for the SIII will cross 40 million by EOY 2012. The Jelly Bean update is  expected to hit this high profile handset sometime in August which should help keep sales going strong.
