Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802 battery test concludes, the results are here

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802 is part of Samsung’s growing dual-SIM Android lineup. The hardware inside the phone is mostly the same as in the original Ace, save for the second SIM slot, of course. We don’t have many dual-SIM phones in our battery test database, so we’ll be testing the Ace Duos using only one SIM to make its results comparable. When it comes to talk time on a 3G network, Samsung advertises 7 hours of battery life. In our tests the phone came close to hitting that mark with its battery dying after 6 hours and 53 minutes of real-world call time. That puts it at the bottom third of the chart, so maybe you should consider sticking to 2G networks – according to official numbers, the Ace Duos should last for more than 18 hours of telephony on those. How many household items could the smartphone replace?

After testing the magnificent Nokia 808 PureView, I concluded that it had made my digital compact camera redundant. Why carry two things around when you have a phone that takes arguably better photos than a standalone camera anyway?  This got me thinking: what else has the smartphone replaced and what could it replace in the near future? With the constant development of new apps and new hardware the potential of the smartphone is limitless. Take NFC for example. It’s a feature that is still relatively new to the market, and whose uses are still being explored. It won’t happen today, and probably not tomorrow either, but eventually we could find ourselves living with less clutter and a single super device that serves all of our daily needs. Would this be a good thing? If you a lost a smartphone that you are overly dependent on then it could spell disaster. History shows, though, that you cannot stop the relentless march of technology. So, here are 10 common household items that have be...

Conan does a parody video for the Apple – Samsung trial

Posted in: Android, iOS, Mobile phones, Tablets August 8th, 2012, 08:04 by Prasad I’m sure you are aware of American comedian and TV host Conan O’Brien who now hosts the show ‘Conan’ on TBS. In the past he has done some videos for the show that talked (and mocked) some aspect of the mainstream technology. His parodies of the Apple videos are especially popular among the tech circle. The current hottest news in the tech world is the Apple vs. Samsung legal war, so it’s not likely that something this big would have escaped the writers of Conan. The video below shows Samsung Vice President ‘Nick Wood’ defending Samsung’s product designs. I’m not going to delve in any further and it’s best if you watch the video and find out for yourself. After all, keeping a young child occupied for the best part of a month is no easy task. It can also be an expensive time, especially if you are looking after more than one child. Going to theme parks was not cheap, even in the 1980s! Thankfully, the world has moved on considerably since I was young, and there are now more things to keep young people occupied in addition to marbles and spinning tops. Fresh air and outdoor activities is an important part of the mix, but your Nokia Lumia smartphone can also play a helping hand. Here are 10 free apps that can keep your kids busy and some of them could even be called educational – bonus! Practical things to do are always a winner. This app provides easy instructions in the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. There are a whole host of models that you can choose to make and then swipe through each screen f...
