Automatic lightning capture with the fastest camera app on the market

Vienna, Austria – Special offer: reduced price for 2 days! In life before iLightningCam, a lighting strike was hard to capture with professional equipment and almost impossible with a mobile cell phone camera. As opposed to a DSLR, this app works free hand. Just point your iPhone towards the scene/part of the sky/thunderstorm where you expect the next lightning, start iLightningCam and wait. The app will automatically press the shutter if a lightning is detected in your view. In addition, it offers the first ever ISO control for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad, which is the only way to capture lightning during night without overexposure. It offers full photo resolution without interpolation.

4.5 stars after 31 votes in the US App Store

New features in iLightningCam 4.00:
* Improved night mode – 4 times higher sensitivity for night scenes
* optimized exposure for night lightning storms
* iPod touch (4th Gen) support
* iPad 2 and 3 support
* Bug fixes
* Improved instructions

Warning from the developer: Thunderstorms are obviously dangerous and life threatening for everyone and not healthy for iPhones either. Take care using this app! Do not take any risks and avoid exposure to thunderstorms. Use this App only in lightning and storm protected places. And – everyone is solely responsible for your actions and adverse consequences. There is a full safety warning included in the instructions page.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation)
* Requires iOS 4.2 or later
* 1.4 MB

Pricing and Availability:
iLightningCam 4.00 is now reduced to $0.99 (or equivalent amount in other currencies) for 2 days and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photo & Video category.

Meizu Russia confirms “Ubuntu rumors”

Yup, just as we’ve told you before, Ubuntu is coming to a Meizu smartphone near you. We still don’t have the official announcement, but details keep coming.,, The latest information (or that’s confirmation) comes from Meizu Russia, which says that Meizu engineers are in fact working on an Ubuntu version of the Meizu MX3. The work is apparently still underway to make things stable, and in the meantime they [engineers] are also working on a new version of Android-based Flyme ROM for both the Meizu MX2 and MX3, adding that Ubuntu won’t be released until the updated Flyme ROM is launched. It is said that Meizu will use Ubuntu as its ticket to the US market later in the year. At that time, we may also see either a revamped MX3 model or the whole new MX4 smartphone that will sport even better hardware under the hood. As usual, we’ll be on the lookout for any news coming from the Ubuntu camp and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned… [Via: GizChina] Dusan has been...
