Get Instant Answers With The Handy QikCalc Length Converter

Brisbane, Australia – Independent iOS developer Nigel Green is pleased to announce the immediate availability of QikCalc Length Converter v1.1 on the App Store. As part of a series of conversion apps, QikCalc Length Converter shares an interface design that provides instant user feedback. There are no dials to turn or switches to flip – simply choose the units, type a number and get an instant answer. QikCalc Length Converter contains 10 different length units (4 metric and 6 imperial) and is available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Developer Nigel Green said that he used this same simplicity in his tried-and-true interface that he first designed for his very successful cooking conversion app, CookCalc. “The interface allows people of any age to instantly get their answers, without needing to do anything more than touch two buttons (the to/from units) and enter the amount they want to convert.” he said.

Upon launching the app there is no loading screen. In just over a second, the app is ready to start converting. Not including converting to/from the same units, QikCalc Length Converter can perform up to 90 different calculations.

Features:
* 10 different length units (Millimetres, Centimetres, Metres, Kilometres, Inches, Feet, Yards, Miles, Nautical miles, Fathoms)
* 90 different calculations
* Retina display support

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad
* iOS 4.1 or later
* Universal Application
* 2.4 MB

QikCalc Length Converter v1.1 includes new graphics to complement the other apps available in the QikCalc series. (Area Converter, Speed Converter, Time Converter and Data Unit Converter)

Pricing and Availability:
QikCalc v1.1 is available for $0.99 USD (or equivalent in other currencies) and is available worldwide exclusively on the App Store in the ‘Utilities’ section. For more details and screenshots please visit the Support Website.

Meizu Russia confirms “Ubuntu rumors”

Yup, just as we’ve told you before, Ubuntu is coming to a Meizu smartphone near you. We still don’t have the official announcement, but details keep coming.,, The latest information (or that’s confirmation) comes from Meizu Russia, which says that Meizu engineers are in fact working on an Ubuntu version of the Meizu MX3. The work is apparently still underway to make things stable, and in the meantime they [engineers] are also working on a new version of Android-based Flyme ROM for both the Meizu MX2 and MX3, adding that Ubuntu won’t be released until the updated Flyme ROM is launched. It is said that Meizu will use Ubuntu as its ticket to the US market later in the year. At that time, we may also see either a revamped MX3 model or the whole new MX4 smartphone that will sport even better hardware under the hood. As usual, we’ll be on the lookout for any news coming from the Ubuntu camp and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned… [Via: GizChina] Dusan has been...
