TracFone, the prepaid US carrier is plans to release an Android smartphone, the LG Optimus Zip. This handset is likely the re-branded LG Enlighten, which is already available on Verizon (or LG Optimus Slider for Virgin Mobile). The LG Optimus Zip smartphone has a full physical sliding QWERTY keyboard and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The Zip boasts an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen HVGA (320 x 480) display, and a MicroSD card slot (up to 32GB). New LG Optimus Zip smartphone has a 3.2MP rear-facing camera, GPS, CDMA-EVDO 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.
