Effective Alarm, an Alarm that Makes Sure Users Wake Up in the Morning

Miami, Florida – Tokkao today is pleased to introduce Effective Alarm 1.0 in the App Store, an alarm that will not stop until the user is fully awake. The difference between this alarm and other alarms is that this alarm will engage its users in a set of activities directed towards increasing their awareness in the morning.

When we wake up, our mind is still in a restful state. As soon as we are engaged in active reading and problem solving, even when it is as simple as reading instructions and ordering numbers, our mind becomes fully awake. It is Effective Alarm’s job to make sure the users are engaged long enough in these activities until they are fully awake.

Simplicity is the best form of sophistication. As the Screenshot 1 shows, Effective Alarm features a simple and professional looking user interface. It has the familiarity of the regular iPhone alarm yet it improves on the ability to really wake up its users. The alarm is fully configurable, adding settings to set defaults tunes and E-Mode activity intensity.

The app also allows for the creation and management of multiple alarms. Each one of them with different specification and requirements. Screenshot 2 shows a list of alarms and how the users could set and unset the E-Mode, as well as activate or deactivate the alarms, right from the main screen. Alarms can be set for one time only, or as recurrent events, by selecting the days of the week the users wants to be notified. This can be seen in the youtube video below. Moreover, each alarm can have its specific description so that users can identify each notification.

Although Effective Alarm is an alarm created with heavy-sleeper in mind, the app also supports the creation of regular reminders. “Reminders” are alarms without the E-Mode activated. These reminders will notify the user without the mind activities and can be used as a substitute for the regular iPhone alarm.

Device Requirements:
* 3/4Gen iPhone, iPad, or 3/4Gen iPod touch
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 10.9 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Effective Alarm 1.0 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Utilities category.

Meizu Russia confirms “Ubuntu rumors”

Yup, just as we’ve told you before, Ubuntu is coming to a Meizu smartphone near you. We still don’t have the official announcement, but details keep coming.,, The latest information (or that’s confirmation) comes from Meizu Russia, which says that Meizu engineers are in fact working on an Ubuntu version of the Meizu MX3. The work is apparently still underway to make things stable, and in the meantime they [engineers] are also working on a new version of Android-based Flyme ROM for both the Meizu MX2 and MX3, adding that Ubuntu won’t be released until the updated Flyme ROM is launched. It is said that Meizu will use Ubuntu as its ticket to the US market later in the year. At that time, we may also see either a revamped MX3 model or the whole new MX4 smartphone that will sport even better hardware under the hood. As usual, we’ll be on the lookout for any news coming from the Ubuntu camp and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned… [Via: GizChina] Dusan has been...
