Highlights include improved video playback, as well as the ability to open Dropbox files directly from other applications. The Dropbox beta also brings the usual batch of bug fixes and thumbnails for video files. Next on the list of new features are UI improvements for the Nexus 7 tablet. We found Dropbox to be immensely useful and streamlined on the Nexus 7 even before the beta came out, so it’s good to see the company strive to make the experience even better. Nokia City Scene for Nokia N9 update

Nokia City Scene isn’t just another mapping service; it’s a 3D-rich mapping experience. With a new update for Nokia N9 users, Nokia City Scene from Nokia Beta Labs is the perfect companion when roaming a city. The first thing you’ll notice when using Nokia City Scene is that it looks a little different to the Nokia Maps you’d usually use to navigate around a city. Yes, you’ve still got the same navigation expertise and easy to follow maps but now you’ve got the chance to explore the city in full panoramic 3D. When you select a destination your journey is split up into visual waypoints that updates as you progress on your journey. These real-life visual images show you exactly where you are at a glance and means there’s less time needed to study the map; you just need to look for the similar landmarks displayed on your screen. Some larger buildings even show you what other smaller venues are inside. For example, a shopping mall is one building but is made up of several smaller shops. W...

Groupon offers great deals for Nokia Lumia and Nokia Belle smartphone owners

If you’re always on the look out for a bargain, then let your phone do the hard work for you by using the Groupon app on your Nokia Lumia and Nokia Belle smartphone. Groupon is a company that advertises retailer services, products or other listings on behalf of a supplier. These deals are usually much lower than they’d normally advertise, ranging anywhere from 50 to 90 per cent off the recommended retail price (RRP). They can do this because they rely on the fact that when these deals are offered, people in vast amounts will snap up these deals, ultimately making a profit for the company offering the goods. For the company, selling 200 marked-down items is better than only selling a few of the same full-priced items. Plus, they’re more likely to get repeat business as a result. Screenshots of Groupon from a Nokia Lumia 800 On your Nokia Lumia and Nokia Belle smartphone, you first start by signing in, or creating an account if you haven’t got one. The real question, therefore, is which Twitter client would the Prince of Denmark be using? We all use Twitter in different ways; maybe there is an app that suits your needs but is not particularly useful for someone who, for example, has to manage multiple accounts? To help you pick the best Twitter app, here is a look at five apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace and picking out the best feature in each one. It seems only fair that we start with the official Twitter app and it does the jo...
